Whether you choose to (1) sit face‑to‑face with a signer to verify identity, ensure comprehension, and witness a signature with clarity and certainty; (2) serve clients whose travel or scheduling limitations require flexible, mobile support; or (3) exercise the remarkable ability to assist individuals across the country - or anywhere in the world - through remote notarization, you will gain valuable insight and practical guidance by attending this conference.
A Two‑Day Experience Elevating Knowledge, Skill, and Professional Reach
The 2026 Maryland Notary Public Day Conference kicks off Friday evening (November 6) with a 3-hour virtual session from 6 pm to 9 pm, followed by an in-person session with workshops on Saturday (November 7) from 9 am to 5:30 pm.
The virtual session on Friday features an engaging roundtable discussion covering a wide range of notarial topics, including mortgage loan closings, fingerprinting, estate‑planning documents, mobile notary work, becoming a wedding officiant, and more. You’ll also hear from the creators of leading business applications designed to streamline your workflow, such as NotaryAct, NotaryAssist, and PageSeparator. Interested in witnessing a mock mortgage loan closing? We’ve included that too. The evening concludes with guest speaker Brooke Merritt, Director of Government Affairs, National Notary Association (NNA), presenting on the critical and timely issue of deed fraud: The Perfect Storm — How Deed Fraud is Changing the Notary Public Office. This is a subject every notary should be informed about.
The in‑person session on Saturday offers a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow notaries public, engage with industry leaders, and learn directly from top practitioners during our workshop sessions. Enjoy meaningful, face‑to‑face networking.
The morning general session begins with a welcome message from Dr. Falecia D. Williams, President of Prince George’s Community College, followed by featured guest speakers who will share essential insights to help you operate your notary business more effectively. We will also present the Giving Back to the Community award, and you’ll take part as the jury in the always‑popular “mock trial.”
The afternoon workshops are designed to strengthen your skills across every service model—traditional, mobile, or remote online—so you can operate with unwavering integrity. Explore different operational approaches for delivering notarial services and gain the practical knowledge to elevate your business.
The evening general session continues with additional presentations to enhance your professional toolkit. Learn about a tactical guide to using AI tools to build a stronger online brand and create a consistent referral engine that scales your RON practice. You’ll also gain critical insight into risk management, because every notarization carries risk, and success depends on knowing how to minimize it. This keynote session examines “reasonable care,” the legal standard used to determine liability when a notarization is challenged.
